Kumquat jam 


  • 800 gr. of kumquat 
  • 400 gr. sugar 
  • 30 ml of water or the juice of an orange or lemon 


  • Wash the kumquats well because we are going to use the skin.
  • We cut them in not very big pieces and remove the seeds.
  • Mix with the sugar and water or juice, and leave to stand for a few hours until the fruit releases its juice and the sugar has dissolved.
  • Then pour this mixture into a pot over medium heat, stirring from time to time, and let it cook for 30 to 45 minutes.
  • Turn off and remove from heat.
  • Still warm, pour the jam into airtight glass jars. Turn them upside down and leave to cool overnight.
